Biomax® Bio-Sulforaphane Advanced is a science-based formulation featuring a concentrated 12:1 powder extract from broccoli sprouts (Brassica oleracea L.). Each capsule contains 700 mg of this extract, carefully processed as a 100% whole broccoli sprout concentrate that remains enzyme-active. This is crucial because sulforaphane is not naturally present in broccoli sprouts; it is formed when the enzyme myrosinase acts on its precursor, glucoraphanin.
While intestinal microbes possess some myrosinase-like activity, the conversion is often unpredictable. This product uses proprietary Australian technology to optimise and ensure a reliable yield of bioavailable sulforaphane, standardised to deliver 7 mg per capsule.
Sulforaphane is a potent phytonutrient known for activating the Nrf2 pathway – a key transcription factor that regulates the expression of numerous antioxidant and detoxification enzymes, helping the body defend itself against cellular damage. By activating Nrf2, sulforaphane can turn on hundreds of protective genes, enhance beneficial ones, and silence harmful ones – supporting healthy gene expression and modulating epigenetic events. It also helps preserve cellular DNA integrity.
This advanced formula is further enhanced with 25 µg of elemental selenium per capsule, provided as selenomethionine.
