Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS CBD OIL?
CBD Oil is a non-psychoactive oil extract taken from the Cannabis (or Hemp) plant. CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of many cannabinoids found in the plant.
DOES CBD GET YOU HIGH?
No, CBD does not make you high. Since CBD does not contain any of the psychoactive substance THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) it cannot make you feel high.
While CBD does not make you high, many users report positive results when using CBD products. The exact experience will vary from person to person.
DOES CBD OIL SHOW UP IN A DRUG TEST?
CBD shouldn’t show up on a drug test, however, some CBD oils contain trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis, this could - at least in theory - potentially show up on a drug test because standard drug tests are designed to look for THC.
However, this is unlikely to be a problem as the THC content is extremely low.
DOES CBD MAKE YOU TIRED/SLEEPY?
The effects of CBD are quite mild, so while some love to take it while relaxing at night, taking it during the day is unlikely to make you feel sleepy.
There are a number of plant-based products popular that can help to contribute to a more result night’s sleep - from valerian to chamomile tea. If you do notice CBD oil is making you feel sleepy during the day, you can simply reduce your dose accordingly.
CAN YOU GET ADDICTED TO CBD?
CBD is a safe, non-intoxicating substance that does not have addictive properties.
CBD does not contain any THC, which is responsible for the “high” feeling experienced with cannabis products, and therefore is not psychoactive either.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS OF CBD OR HEMP?
Side effects are extremely rare and mild if encountered.
Taking too much CBD too quickly may make you feel a little tired or give you loose bowels. If this happens take a little less for a while to allow your body to get used to the CBD.
HOW LONG DOES CBD STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM?
It all varies from person to person. On average, the CBD will stay in your body between 2-5 days after taking it. How you take the CBD, how much CBD you take, and your size will all have an impact on how long CBD stays in your system.
CAN I TAKE CBD WITH MY MEDICATION?
Always consult your doctor or healthcare professional before taking CBD if you are already taking medication.
Some studies suggest CBD inhibits the action of cytochrome P450 which is important for removing some medication from your body.
CAN CBD CAUSE PSYCHOSIS?
CBD will not cause psychosis and has been proven safe for many years already.
There are a number of studies ongoing looking into the effects of CBD on the human body, with some initial results showing CBD has a very different effect than those sometimes seen when THC is used.
